First, though funny, this is an old clip from Our Gang that eventually ends up with propaganda in favor of storing money in the bank. Since it was 1932, obviously the depression was first and foremost at the attention of the producers/director.
Second, Brian, you continue to quote W. Wilson Caldwell saying "Once a trust has been violated, it can rarely, if ever be restored." and I still cannot find that quote anywhere. I have searched online and in books but cannot find it. Again, is this something he said personally to you or is out there and I cannot find it? Thanks!

W. Wilson Caldwell grew up in the Depression too.
Every great quote starts with someone saying it to another or writing it down and publishing it somehow. I'm sure that Wilson spoke those words to many people besides me and for all I know he got it from someone else.
I'm curious: Why does the quote so trouble you?
It is an axiomatic truism.
BTW, if City Council and the Mayor pull off the "Deal" I think is in the works, the most vulnerable parts of Lakewood's population will feel like it is the Great Depression,

To get back on subject.
I believe giving it to the hospital, and friends. (simplified)
Perhaps we could start a new thread for misquotes it reminds me of what Ezra Pound once said, "It ain't rocket surgery."
