Truck Accident On McKinley - Chase? Not This Time

Post by Jim O'Bryan »

Image
This morning around 8:30am a semi truck turning South on to McKinley struck and knocked down a pole, crossing light, and wires, then tried to get away.

Image
Witnessed by the photographer of these photos, who also called police as he followed the truck on its way to I-90 and disappearing.

Image
Suddenly the truck's brakes locked on, and started smoking, stopping the truck and its get away!

Thanks for the tip and the photos to the LO Hotline, 216.407.2634!

Great pictures, Jim. Thanks for sharing.

On the other hand, I thought McKinley and Hilliard were both "no trucks" streets. I also see semis (that are not doing work on Lincoln school) driving up and down Clifton, Belle, and Warren very frequently. Maybe it's time the city considers placing more of the signs that have the trucks with the lines through them instead of the tiny black and white signs that say "truck and load limit, six tons". Although this may not be possible, as much of our traffic sign work has now been contracted out. I also feel that more tickets should be written to these truck drivers that drive up and down residential streets all day long.

Just my opinion. Again, thanks for sharing Jim.
