The kids say bedbugs are showing up all over the high school

Post by todd vainisi »

Reports are that they are finding them in cafeteria and in math classrooms and in different spots throughout the school.

This is not acceptable. If kids bring these things home it will cost hundreds if not thousands of dollars for families to rid themselves of them. If there is a problem in the school, it's got to be closed and the whole building needs to be treated. Not just 1 classroom like they mentioned in the email a couple weeks ago. And when they find out which kids have them at home, they should not be allowed back at school until they can prove that their home is not longer infested.

I'm really upset about this.

My son had the same complaints last night. When I looked at the Lakewood City Schools Website there was no information about this. I agree with Todd, this is a very dissapointing situation. If he brought them home I'd be pi##ed.

Okay, I guess it's illegal to keep the kids from coming to school. But the school is taking measures to try to minimize the impact. The bedbug situation in Lakewood is really frustrating.

It is pretty much all across the County. We have lucked out to be out of the sites of the bedbugs for a while. I work in social work field and we have been dodging bedbugs for the last 5 or 6 years. I wonder if there is Bed Bug rider for insurance. The cost of truly clearing these things out can get up there pretty fast.
