Observation Deck credited with helping Mayor Summers victory, swaying votes, closing hospital

Post by Corey Rossen »

It has been noted numerous times, on several different threads, throughout the Lakewood Observer Project’s Observation Deck that people are being swayed to vote for one candidate in place of the other on Election Day. These additional votes have been gained by voting against the postings of several individuals on the Observation Deck.

This swaying of votes is not new news, as it had been mentioned several times, by numerous people, at varying points in the past few months on the Lakewood Observer Project’s Observation Deck.

It would be hard to say just how many votes were converted from one candidate to the next due to the postings on the Observation Deck. The people who changed their votes due to the Deck may have influenced friends, who then influenced more and so on. No one knows the power and influence of the Lakewood Observer Project’s Observation Deck, but it just may have helped contribute to Mayor Summers victory and therefore the closing of the hospital.

The words and ideas posted on the Deck may actually work, either for you or against you.

Rumor has it that there is an upcoming campfire with a sing-a-long featuring a banjo player at a whine store.

Corey, your idea that the Deck is so powerful is just ludicrous. Many political observers in fact are pointing to the droves of younger voters who came to the polls to support the Marijuana issue. These young people are in generally better health than most of us. They are used to going to CVS or Urgent Care and haven't required much hospitalization in their lives. I believe that this had much more to do with the outcome than any opinions that were voiced here on the deck. I can't think of very many young folks who even participate in this forum.

I would think the Solstice Steps being premiered 3 days before the election would have had a greater influence than the Observation Deck.

Is there any data on how lakewood voted on issue 2 and 3? That would be good information to support or refute this suggestion.

If you want to imply that the Observation Deck weak and insignificant that is up to you. I was giving it the benefit of the doubt, why else would people like you (and the other posters who swayed voters) be so persistent on here? Why fight the fight if it is meaningless as you imply?

Opinion. Opinion. Opinion. Opinion. Opinion. That is a lot of personal opinions, please feel free to back them up with stats. In fact, do back them up if you wish to be viewed as a valuable contributor to your cause here on the Deck. Otherwise, stop annoying me with having to cut/paste all of your personal opinions in the Observation Deck formatting system - it is cumbersome.

Glad to see you are in a fighting mood, maybe you are in a researching mood as well?

What? Not sure what I am fishing for. I think your anger is getting the best of you. Opinion!

If not for the Observation Deck, the entire hospital issue would never have been exposed.
That's why some people have been badmouthing it....they prefer to operate behind closed doors.

Corey

That is all speculation wrapped around conjecture--it is just a lengthier form of your self-stimulation we've seen from you before. You play the role of a cowardly kibitzer lacking courage with every stroke of the keyboard.

What is certain is that if you and your ilk succeed in closing the hospital using the lies spewed forth, people will die, taxes will be raised and the world will know you were all wrong.

But it will be too late, and in the end you will be accountable.

Would the thread have been better suited with a cartoon parody or comic strip?

I am not cowardly, I am "Switzerland" as I've come to learn. Me and my ilk? I am neutral. Even Jim O'Bryan, claims to be for neutral. Not sure why you allow it for him and not others like me (yet he is very vocal about his position even while claiming to be neutral)?

We have also come to learn that some are not suited to run a public relations firm or manage a campaign.

Corey

1) You are not Switzerland.

2) I am not neutral.

3) The Observer Project is 100% neutral.

This entire project is about owning your bias, which I do. Corey, you do not. You act like Switzerland, but we all know you are not.

Come out of the closet, tell all why you were for Summers, come on, tell them, come on. Park... Come on...

Own you bias, it feels great.

Pasquale, I have neither aligned myself with SLH, nor BL. Attended 2 SLH meetings.

Short term memory? Now, whose words are these in red? So you are not aligned? Sounds like Switzerland to me. Remember your words as you type them. Own your words. Come on...try it...it feels great!

The Project as neutral is a gray area. You are the only Editor with a bias I have ever experienced. Editors, by definition, should be unbiased. It would be easier if you would first identify yourself each post with what hat you are wearing - Editor, Owner, pseudo-journalist, blogger, citizen...it would make combating your comments easier. You can simply say, after the fact upon being confronted, that you were not wearing "that" hat in the comment, you wearing wearing a different hat. You have a great out to everything...and it is built in.

If you recall (this calls on your long term memory so you should do better  ) that I started getting involved in this conversation months ago by asking "what if" as in "what if the hospital goes away" or "what if the hospital stays" then who benefits. I have remained neutral the entire time, but since you are the Pied Piper, and your people follow the gospel of Jim O'Bryan they pounced on me. No one pounced on Gary Rice who even claimed that being Switzerland is a harder stance than either side - why are you not attacking him? For the record, I do not know Gary Rice or have anything against him - he is just a great example of not having an opinion, remaining neutral, and not being attacked by Jim O'Bryan and others.

You may need to redefine the Lakewood Observer Project because the paper pint and online do not follow the same rules or have the same tone. One may be affecting the other, or it may not be.

By the way, I still do not have an avatar, Jim. As Owner can't you do something? Or are you showing a bias against me? SLH advocate Ryan Salo has an avatar but people from Switzerland cannot?

Jim, please tell me who I voted for, line by line, since you (and apparently everyone else) know me so well. Maybe that was you looking over my shoulder at the voting booth?

Jim, you make this place fun!

This is funny.

We have Corey and others who are pleased with the election results coming on to the Deck for Jim's head and attacking the LO for hurting the SLH cause.

It tracks the fake newspaper headline lie that someone besides Summers and BL is "Dooming" the hospital that they are rabidly trying to tear down.

Fools!

Why would I want Jim's head, mouth and face attached!

Heck, I don't want my own mouth and face!

Come on, you are making this too fun!

At no point have I attacked Jim, just addressed his attempt at calling me out of the closet.

I love your posts, keep them coming!!
