The votes are in, and late-reporting precincts went for Summers and BL in a bigger way than early-reporting precincts.
Folks in Lakewood evaluated the messages, messengers, and messaging tactics in Lakewood for months and made their choices.
This didn't come down to some narrow victory because of a 'fake newspaper' or 'money' or 'deceit.' The margins for Summers and BL were decisive. For LB and TE, they were even more decisive.
Now it's time to listen to the voters and move on. Further 'saving' will be good for nothing, at this point.

Re: The People of Lakewood have Spoken
One would hope that the Mayor also "heard the voters" and realized that while he may feel he has a mandate for now to proceed with the plan he's laid out, the strong opposition suggests that more circumspection and transparency is expected of him in this term.
Also, I'd have to quibble with your characterization that the school board election showed an 'even more decisive' margin. It seems pretty evenly distributed to me. (edit: so evenly distributed, in fact, that apparently a recount is in order.)

I have learned in many of these types of things, you must give everyone a chance at a victory lap.
Some act like they have been there before, others act like they climbed Mt Everest for the first time.
