Beginning November 2, the Lakewood Public Library (main branch) will be presenting a special exhibit on the 1st floor near the children's section. The Moving Hearts Gallery is a photography exhibit that showcases local children who are in need of a safe, loving, permanent family. The exhibit is displayed throughout the year in Northeastern Ohio and will be open at the Lakewood library during November and December. To coincide with November's National Adoption Month, library staff will also create a special book display with a focus on foster care and adoption.
The Moving Hearts Gallery is a partnership between Cuyahoga County Division of Children and Family Services, Adoption Network Cleveland, and the City of Lakewood Department of Human Services, Division of Youth (Lakewood Area Collaborative). For anyone interested in learning more about becoming a foster or adoptive parent, please contact Lisa Lowrie, Resource Specialist at Lakewood's Division of Youth office at 216-529-6108. Community members are also welcome to attend information sessions held at the Youth office (12900 Madison Avenue). Upcoming dates are Tuesday, November 10, from 10am-11:30am, and Wednesday, November 18, from 6pm-7:30pm.
