Cowardly Kaptur Betrays Lakewood

I called Congresswoman Kaptur’s office several months ago to discuss an important concern in my community...the future of Lakewood Hospital (silly me….that’s the approach I always took when Dennis Kucinich was in office and I always managed to get some support back then) and was told by her staff that the Congresswoman does not get involved in local issues. I guess that does not extend to local politics. A friend of mine in a neighboring city recently got a robocall (listen to the attached MP3) from Ms. Kaptur urging him to reelect Mayor Summers. It doesn’t get much more local than that Ms. Kaptur. Here’s a recommendation for you. Follow your own advice and stay out of local matters. Lakewood will remember your betrayal.

I received a robo call Sunday evening from Kaptur. I called her office and told her staff all about the alleged crap that Summers has been involved in and asked if she really wanted to endorse him.
I also asked if she was going to receive anything for her backing. Of course, I said this after I first said I was calling to urge her to vote for Michael Skindell, the honest and transparent leader!

Lets not forget that Sherrod Brown is also backing Summers. Since these people are supposed to represent all of us, I urge those of you that are not pleased and call their offices and voice your opinions. I am sure they both will care about us the next time they are up for re-election!

We'd better be careful folks. Some of these comments could be construed as threats. Please, please Ms. Kaptur, don't sick the police on us. We just thought we were expressing our opinions as American citizens, but we know better now (best to suck up to these people...based on experience they cannot be trusted to understand an expression in the English language such as "head on a chopping block").

One more thing. Ms. Kaptur, from one Polish-American to another, you are an embarrassment. You probably would have been on the wrong side of the Solidarity movement too.

Yes, by all means guys. All SLH members should vote for a republican in Kaptur and Brown's next elections. I'm sure that will produce the results you want! Maybe you all should watch some movies or tv or read some books about how politics work. As a politician you have to pick your battles, sometimes you gotta do what the party wants so that you can get things that are more important to you. I think these two congressmen/women know there are bigger problems in our country and state than the fate of Lakewood Hospital - it doesn't surprise me at all that these folks are willing to help the democratic ticket in Lakewood.

No one said to vote for a Republican or for any particular person or party for that matter. That is a personal choice. That does not mean that voters should not express their displeasure with a candidate from their own party who does not represent their interests.

Ridiculous. How about the future of Planned Parenthood, abortion rights, minimum wage increases, anti-union legislation, gun control... the list goes on and on and on and then somewhere way down the list comes "what happens to the old hospital in the center of town." These aren't Lakewood only issues and they should come before Lakewood Hospital even in Lakewood if you are a democrat. So, it doesn't bother me at all that Sherrod made some robocalls the night before the election. It's not like he's been out stumping for Summers all summer (ha ha no pun intended).

I'm not saying to vote for Summers because he's listed as a democrat - I'm saying don't thwart the elections of our congressional candidates that are counted on to do tackle much bigger issues than a single hospital.

I agree with Leo. When I went to the polls this morning there was only one issue on my mind.

not Planned Parenthood
not abortion rights
not minimun wage
not anti-union legislation
not gun control

but Lakewood Hospital!

Right now, there is no bigger issue in Lakewood, regardless of what Todd says. It's a local election today, not a nationwide election, so we're thinking about local issues!

The suggestion was that Sherrod Brown and Kaptur, two democrats representing Ohio in the United States congress should receive retribution from SLH supporters in their next election because of robocalls for the democratic ticket in this election.

Thank God this thing is winding to a close. I can't wait for both your gangs of thugs to be gone. Summers and SLH.
