Summers Admits That Fake FitzGerald Newspaper "Is Not A Neutral Newspaper"
Because folks will complain if nobody includes Mike Summers' response to the Bruce Geiselman on the Deck, here it is: http://www.cleveland.com/lakewood/index ... avors.html.

For the record, the Plain Dealer is the THIRD publication to carry this story...TWO full days after the Observer broke it.
However, Team Summers will continue to claim that the PD is the "real newspaper" on this issue.

The Lakewood Observer broke this story on Monday, Mike.
See, e.g., "FitzGerald/Summers Has Come To Shut You Down" at http://www.lakewoodobserver.com/forum/v ... =7&t=22251.

This can be good news for any politician annoyed by all those pesky campaign laws.
Just have one of your friends start a newspaper.
People who would like to donate to your campaign can buy an ad in the paper or better yet, just "invest" in the paper.
No record keeping, no campaign reports, no transparency, no accountability, no questions asked....
There is something hidden about the whole Hospital issue. There is something else. The Clinic and the LHA wouldn't be tying themselves to potential campaign violations and risking their charitable status for a second rate medical office building on the corner of Belle and Detroit. Maybe we aren't being cynical enough.

It is not that easy to get around Election laws, and more good people getting deposed in court thanks to Mayor Summers and Ed FitzGerald.

Maura Zurick has a PD piece at http://www.cleveland.com/brooklyn/index ... ry_package.
Team Summers ... err ... Ed FitzGerald must really think Lakewood residents are stupid.
What is that they call us, Jim?
We are the 97% ... they are the "3%ers" ...
Well follow this line of reasoning:
So, in summary:
Everyone who believes FitzGerald please raise your hand.
Lakewood deserves better than four more years of Ed FitzGerald driving the Mike Summers Administration.
Now is the time to restore honest, transparent, and accountable leadership to Lakewood.

Note that the above is simply a parody of reality.

Well follow this line of reasoning:
Maura Zurick, cleveland.com wrote:"Well I've been an investor in this effort to try to have more community newspapers," FitzGerald said in a phone interview Thursday. He said he's "not a spokesperson or employee of the papers."
***
FitzGerald, former Lakewood mayor, says he's out of politics and not in the newspaper business.
***
FitzGerald said he wasn't sure why Brooklyn and Lakewood were the first papers to go out, but that the papers may expand to other communities.

So, in summary:
- FitzGerald is just an investor.
FitzGerald is out of politics.
FitzGerald is not in the newspaper business.
FitzGerald has no idea why the Lakewood paper went out first.
Everyone who believes FitzGerald please raise your hand.
Lakewood deserves better than four more years of Ed FitzGerald driving the Mike Summers Administration.

How about a picture of the papers in his garage.Michael Deneen wrote:Wow. Just wow.

This is getting absurd.

It's amusing that the Mayor's shrinking corps of defenders have sunk to saying, "well, his fake paper is no worse than the Observer".
Before you start comparing the two, maybe we should wait to see the SECOND edition of "Lakewood Neighborhood News".
It'll be a very long wait.

Bridget,
They know the difference.
But they have been caught in yet another lie.
And they are not exceptionally good liars.
