And here is the problem.

WTF has Jay Foran presenting and leaking all over town?

The committee is still meeting, and "still fact finding."

A charade.

I believe that to be true, which is why I asked Jay P. Foran for clarification.

Jim O'Bryan wrote:The committee is still meeting, and "still fact finding."

I'm not on the committee so I don't know.

Nor has Jay P. Foran come on here to explain what he is doing.

I believe that to be true.

But, others may disagree.

Matt

He doesn't do well here.

People ask him questions and he loses his temper, melts down and flees with a typical,
"That's it, I'm done explaining..."

As did this email echange ended 3 emails down the road.

No ability to take heat from concerned residents. Prefers "the stage."

Jay,

Since you have not accepted my invitation to share your excitement with us, using your own words, right here, on the Deck; can you please have your people call me?

I would love to have a face-to-face with you so you can explain to me the many hats you are wearing and how the Lakewood Residents, Jim, and I have it all wrong ... oh ... and your excitement, too.

Thanks.

I just checked Onelakewood.com, and it appears that almost all information regarding the Active Living Task Force (members, meeting dates, etc.) has been removed from the city's website. What happened? Also, when information was on the website about the Active Living Task Force, I seem to recall that no meeting minutes were ever posted. I requested the minutes from the meeting that my son and I attended and did not receive them in their entirety. While at this meeting, I recall that the members had a draft copy of plans and ideas for the wellness center and wellness activities around the city. I than recall that Jay Foran announced (I assumed for our benefit) that draft copies of plans were not subject to public records release (I knew this was not true, but said nothing). When I received my requested copy of the minutes, this draft was not included. At the beginning of this meeting, Mr. Foran curtly grilled me in regards to my identity. Due to this, I refused to disclose my identity.

A couple months ago, I was speaking with a member of LakewoodAlive. I was informed that Ian Andrews receives his salary for LakewoodAlive Director from the Cleveland Clinic. Are there other jobs at LakewoodAlive that are paid positions? Is or was Jay Foran one of them? It appears to me that Jay Foran perhaps wears too many hats in this city.

Lori

Quite possibly they are getting ready to present the information. I believe it was coming to
a close in June, I could be wrong.

The Cleveland Clinic is a supporter of LakewoodAlive, as is the Lakewood Observer and
myself. I have been a supporter of LakewoodAlive since it formed. While I might not believe
in all of their programs, or attitudes, it is a much needed organization in this city.

Ian Andrews, has proven to be a good director, and his crew are OK.

Last time I checked the Cleveland Clinic put about $5 million into local organizations and
programs around the city, many to help those who truly need help. I believe they are the
largest donor to North Coast Ministries. This loss will be devastating to the city.

You know this might be the biggest problem in all of this. A lot of good people being run
around with a small group with set agendas for the betterment of all. Someone asked me
"Who is getting rich on this?" My answer was "no one." This is a clash of ideals, and half
brain ideas that are baked in back rooms and hallways over decades and sprung on the
hapless public for our own good, but they are geniuses and we are dolts.

Screw democracy, to risky. Screw the light of day, might get hung up. Don't tell anyone,
they might make it better. They alone, the deliverers of mediocre strip malls once every ten
years, know what is best for all of you.

Just kind of sad. So busy trying to make us like Westlake they don't even appreciate what
we have always had.

Interesting side note: A reporter rushed up to David Blatt, coach for the CAVs after clinching
the Eastern Division, and she said, "Well what do you think we are only four wins away!"
He responded, "You know we don;t win Eastern Divisions that often, let's enjoy it and this
moment."

Jim,

Thanks for your comments and information. Sometimes when we get caught up in what's wrong, we forget the people in the background that are doing a lot to make things right. Many of these people help others in our community without anyone knowing who they are. These are the people that deserve our respect and thanks. Thanks to all of you who help others in our community. You are truly appreciated.

Jay Foran

Is the Active Living Task Force on hold as you wait to see how much money from the Hospital Deal that the Active Living Task Force has nothing to do with gets?

Hennis Paynter, clean up in the Active Living Aisle!

OK, let;s make this real easy, what have you told the truth about?

Seems like it could be a very short list.

You can watch the Active Living Task Force presentation on the Lakewood City Schools' website.

http://www.lakewoodcityschools.org/Content2/516

It appears that this Joint BOE Council Meeting took place on January 26, 2015 not February 2, 2015.

The BOE and Council were told to expect recommendations in 6-8 weeks.

A February 17th meeting of the task force was cancelled but rescheduled for March 3rd along with meetings March 18th & 31st and April 14th & 28th.

Does anyone know if those meeting ever took place? If there are minutes available? If recommendations were ever made?

I have been hearing about a recreation center since 2009. It was first mentioned to me by then Mayor Ed FitzGerald.

Meg,

I have all the minutes--attached is the February 3, 2015 session where Summers ties the new foundation, the Belle/Detroit Land, and Jacobs money to a recreation center "plan". Two task force members told me Summers said "Think BIG" when he unrolled the map of green space available for the "wreck" center.

Note that the meeting minutes refer to Foran meeting separately with the Mayor--so we know there was more backroom stuff between the two. Summers makes the comment "Need to start thinking about best way to use this funding". So your piece in the LO is spot on. Summers and Foran never had education as a real priority. Note the new thread I"ll start in the next few minutes where way back in 2013--when Summers, Madigan, Bullock concocted the new foundation and recreation plans in the LHA Select Committee---Foran was simultaneously pitching a dome over soccer fields to the School Board and mentioning funding from the Clinic and others as "possible underwriters." These guys are practiced in the art of deception and misdirection.

Also note Summers Feb 3, 2015 comment to the task force "KEEPING THE HOSPITAL OPEN IS JUST NOT AN OPTION." So Summers spent a ton of taxpayer dollars to prep himself for dog and pony "shows" at forums pretending like he was listening to the public and he never was considering any proposal to keep the hospital open.

Foran is a snake in the grass waiting until after the election to spring up like a jack in the box with his report, tailor made to get milk from the Mayor's prize cow--the new foundation---its all about control of the information and money--they don't care about the kids or the little old ladies schlepping to Avon in the cab to see a doctor. So Jim's story of the magic beans is not far off.

Meg/Brian/Jay/All

Jay could clear this up and he has in the past, but the first presentation of the Active Living Task Force was in secret at a Lakewood Hospital Association Meeting, where they were also talk of continuing their plans to close Lakewood Hospital and transfer funds into a yet unnamed non-profit.

Now Director Foran was so quick to jump on me and others, as was the Mayor, who claimed again and again, "THERE IS NO CONNECTION BETWEEN LHA CLOSING THE HOSPITAL AND THE ACTIVE LIVING TASK FORCE..." Jay always one to hide behind others exclaimed, "How dare you attack the good men and women of the...."

So now the Active Living Task Force that has no connection with closing the hospital and the funding available is on hold until they find out how much money is available from closing the hospital.

"Money laundering is the process of making illegally-gained proceeds (i.e. "dirty money") appear legal (i.e. "clean"). Typically, it involves three steps: placement, layering and integration. First, the illegitimate funds are furtively introduced into the legitimate financial system. Then, the money is moved around to create confusion, sometimes by wiring or transferring through numerous accounts. Finally, it is integrated into the financial system through additional transactions until the "dirty money" appears "clean.""

Now what my lawyers have seen is possible the most lawyered up deal they have ever seen. Most are corporate attorneys for Fortune 500 companies, so they no lawyered up. One worked for the Department of Justice for 15 year. In their opinion taking about $150 million in public assets and channeling them into a friend's yet "unnamed non-profit" seems pretty close to money laundering. When you look at the path the money has to take to get there, and that each foundation must change the reason slightly until it pop-outs as "Active Living/Wellness" which is the ONLY REASON Wellness was mentioned also seems fraudulent to them.

Then we have what the money is really going to be used for, and then we can understand the 10 years of payments.

The #2 million of our money after being laundered will be used to set-up the non-profit, offices, equipment, etc. Those on the inside like to say, "like a small Cleveland Foundation." Which means a small handful of people, bet I can name core staff, will be in plush jobs with big salaries in an effort to look for money to build a Rec Center, along with out TAX DOLLARS, the Mayor's number for the tax increase was about $211 per house. Of course in the $1million plus spent, the Mayor hasn't said that. Now the 10 years in payments of $500,000. That guarantees the salaries of the Mayor's friends for 10 years, until they are in their 70s and 80s.

Higher taxes for jobs for friends. Meanwhile in Brookpark, they are closing City Hall and moving into the Rec Center, they can't afford both.

Lakewood needs to shake off peer pressure, and turn on a little critical thought.

We Are Being Played.

So Jay Foran, how would you like to try on a pair of Big Boy's Pants for the first time, and come in and answer some questions in the light of day.
