BL And SLH Do Not Speak For Me!
I just wanted to through this out as I had not really pushed my opinion on this issue because I thought I disagreed with everyone, I found out there is a very sharp silent group out there that feel the same way I do, and it revolves around this bullet points.
• The Hospital closing is merely the symptom, the problem is honesty and transparency at City Hall. How was this allowed to get so far out of control. Where was the Mayor and or elected officials. Especially those on the inside of this nightmare?
• Management, This has got to be the worst managed roll-out of anything, what alone the single most important change in Lakewood's history. Even $1+ million in spin and crisis management has not been able to explain any aspect of this besides, "health care is changing" Really? $1 million for spin, but no money for basketball courts?
This is the single biggest deal in Lakewood's history over the last 50 years, maybe longer.
Are you confident in anything you know or understand about it? Instead of facts, from the person that had them, the mayor, we got spin, lies, misstatements and miss-truth. Hundreds of thousands of dollars in studies flawed and some outright bogus reprints of the other studies. All with a crisis management team that openly talks about going to war against the opposition, aka residents of Lakewood.
I have not mentioned the need for a hospital or not. Wish I could, but the facts are not forth coming. I wish I could eagerly dream big, no bigger, even bigger, but I am mystified over how giving half of our assets to the Cleveland Clinic and the other Half to a yet to be named private foundation allows me to do anything more than feel like a fool.
Besides, it doesn't matter.
First we need to get City Hall accountable, through transparency and honesty, then we can have the talk on healthcare is changing.

I have almost exclusively talked about honesty, transparency and the deal sucks.
Ask management of BL and SLH, I both think they are forgetting, honest, transparent accountable government.

Re: BL And SLH Do Not Speak For Me!
I'll confirm that Jim has been saying this right along, although what I don't think he wants to say is his position aligns less well with that of the Mayor and BL than with SLH's.
The "deal sucks" is not the same as save the hospital. But SLH has mostly emphasized the facility and not the governmental process, which to use consistent terminology, sucks.
I don't care much about what happens to the existing bricks-and-mortar at Belle and Detroit, but the proposal pushed by the Mayor and BL is far from what I'd like to see for the future of health care in Lakewood. And the way it has been pushed has been anything but transparent and honest. On on top of that, it has been downright embarrassing.

You typed 3 sentences but no substance. Just Horace Mann stuff. I have seen through you from the beginning like looking through my clean windows on a bright sunny day.
Todd is back under the bridge.
Where are you?
Take a stand and defend it.
Don't criticize what you don't understand.
Or prove to us that you actually understand.
Make yourself uncomfortable. Articulate YOUR position and defend it.
I love you brother.
Keep it coming.

Jim O'Bryan: "First we need to get City Hall accountable, through transparency and honesty . . . ."
Jim - You are right. This election is as much about restoring accountability, transparency and honesty at City Hall as it is about saving Lakewood Hospital. Mayor Summers has approached this issue just as he has so many other contentious issues in Lakewood. Drug Mart/Grace Ave, for example. (See Colleen Cotter's article for details). The Summers administration has exhibited a pattern of refusing to provide Lakewood residents with adequate information. He hides the ball and changes the rules to suit his goals. We should not put up with this from our elected officials.

My lack of substance really bothers you, that makes me laugh. I wasn't seeking substance, yet calling out JOB in 3 short sentences is plenty of substance, but Im sure he appreciates you defending him and fighting his fights.Brian Essi wrote:CoreyCorey Rossen wrote:Thank you. I like your poetic window comment, did my brother clean them for you? I know he can reach the high windows.
I don't know Todd, or what bridge you are talking about.
Why should I make myself uncomfortable, that is just ridiculous.
You are so wrapped up in this that you can't see that I wasn't attempting to make a stand.
I'm guessing if you had your way you would blame the low tide tonight on the hospital situation.
You crack me up.
I love this place!
Corey
ps I do not know your brother or your cat's name either.

Thank you, that is quite useful. However, I was a little through off due to my phone's poor internet connection making it appear to be a bad lip sync circa old karate movies.Matthew John Markling wrote:Corey Rossen wrote:You are so wrapped up in this that you can't see that I wasn't attempting to make a stand.

Two questions.
Still no substance.
Still no stand.
No worries brother. Two-thirds of all soldiers stay in the foxhole and never fire a shot.

Are you a soldier now? Be careful, those words made Kellen Winslow catch a lot of heat.
I believe you are the one slinging spitballs, but you wouldn't see that, I know.
