Cleveland Pickle & Because I Said I Would Closes

Post by Jim O'Bryan »

This weekend marked the closing of Cleveland Pickle the much loved sandwich shop had a hard going with parking access, and cutting out a niche in the city 47.6 places to get prepared food per square mile. TJ Butcher Block still doing well, stop by and check them out.

Because I Said I Would, was looking to expand and mentioned the city had looked for them but couldn't find any space for them to move into.

Good luck to both, thanks for stopping by Lakewood.

They must be doing far better than I imagined. That is great. You'd think there would be somewhere in town for them to move though. Theirs was a pretty sweet location, with high foot traffic. Maybe they could not duplicate that foot traffic in a bigger building in Lakewood.

Here's a cool building with great location that never seems to have a tenant, and an owner that I hear could use the money:

As they paid for their Halloween Window Paining, she mentioned they were sorry to leave Lakewood, but they could not find more space. I mentioned a couple places and they were looking for more, as the movement is growing. She mentioned finding something west of us. I asked if the city knew and she mentioned the city said they would help find space, and none was found.

They love Lakewood and their time here.

The party store on Madison has a sign in the window saying that they're closing December 1st. I believe that's a bigger space, and a LOT of middle school students walking past after school. If they've not found another place yet, perhaps that would be suitable.
