Active Living Task Force? MIA?

Post by Jim O'Bryan »

To the Director of the Lakewood Active Living Task Force, I am not "attacking the good men and women of the Active Living Task Force that have given..."

Where is it?

It was presented to Lakewood Hospital Association at their Board Meeting in February.

Bits and pieces have been presented to Council and School Board.

A 76 page version has floated throughout the city while the director prepared the "white paper on the study."

During the entire life of this event, we were assured "It has no connection to Lakewood Hospital Closing, it is "merely a coincidence."

The Mayor has assured all Lakewoodites they was no connection. Jay Foran assured all, and the "good men and women of the Task Force" that there was no connection.

Jay, one of the most fervent supporters of closing the Hospital, and re-electing Mayor Summers to finish the job, is now dragging his feet and is rumored to be waiting to find out what happens with the election and the Hospital before presenting anything.

All of the things that we were told were never connected were all supposed to happen mid-june, when the Clinic was promised a "slam-dunk" on the deal. Now suddenly so many things "not connected," "the talk of crazy conspiracists..." seem to be held up in the limbo of the Hospital Deal.

WTF? So you two were lying about that too?

It's getting old.

Jim,

The Team Summers and Build Lakewood gang often remind me of the following Teddy Roosevelt quote:

I hope that quote resonates with voters on November 3rd when we elect Senator Michael J. Skindell as Mayor of Lakewood and restore honest, transparent, and accountable leadership to City Hall.
