This ribbon-cutting ceremony to be conducted Tues. 10/20/15 is a celebration of a Kafkaesque construction project, sorely lacking in adequate supervision, oversight and clearly a poor choice of a construction company. I feel sorry for my new neighbors and if I were Lakewood Alive, I wouldn't be proud of this project.

I'm sure this relates to the hospital ordeal somehow, otherwise you are taking a huge risk posting off-hospital topic thoughts! Ha!

Absolutely NOTHING to do with the hospital but maybe with the not so professional inner workings of Lakewood's municipal government. I just wish that this were back in NYC where I would know for sure that my comments would be recorded by the many, various news cameras.

My daughter's comments:"It's not so amazing when you live in the neighborhood and you work from home and every single day including Saturday of the last two years has been nonstop noise. Or if you share a driveway and your tire has been punctured by nails carelessly strewn about. Or if you live next door and the contractor and/or owners have backed into your fence so hard that it's broken and fallen down, but no one wants to take responsibility. I encourage everyone to carefully examine the entire situation. And if you don't believe me, take a survey of the neighbors in close proximity."

Mine:"This renovation project has been a sham, a travesty from the moment I moved next door and probably before that. Lack of oversight, inadequate supervision and a poor choice of contractors probably are at the cause. Just look at the renovation on Mars - the total opposite of this. Should Lakewood and LakewoodAlive be proud of this renovation? I don't think so. And as for the Lakewood Historical Society, Ohio I don't think they'll think much of the manner in which the historical architectural fidelity has been retained either."

Alex - Cannot agree with you more. As you know we've had to look at yellow "caution" tape in place of railing on the porch for more than 1 year. Continuous disruption for the neighborhood with lots of doing nothing and very slow progress. I too kept wondering "where's the supervision"? Team Summers assured us that they would only sell this house to someone who had a plan and the ability to do a quality, timely renovation. Our reality has been quite different. This has had a negative impact on the neighborhood. This is one ribbon-cutting I'll skip.
