Cinderella's Closet Moved to Parma

Anyone with a daughter approaching prom or high school dances or friends who may be, please let them know that Cinderella's Closet has moved from Lakewood to Parma schools due to lack of location for the growing closet.

I was able to donate between 100-200 beautiful dresses that were generously donated from local women and many with tags from Designer Consignor on Detroit. In this economy, this closet is greatly needed!

I am disappointed that I could not find a room in Lakewood to keep the closet here of course. I made calls and posted here where the schools and non-profits read and even one of those empty storefronts could have helped. This is certainly as "green" as it gets and I would have loved to see Lakewood on Fox News tonight and be the highlight for this green and generous project, but Parma was highlighted and I am glad that the social workers in the schools there found a home for the closet. After they took the dresses and were able to market it with the proper place, they received a donation of 200 more dresses!~

They are having an open house from 12-2 tomorrow at Valley Forge High ini Parma on a first come first serve basis for any who need a dress and have all sizes!There will be another open house next weekend. You can PM me for contact information to try on dresses outside those hours.

Great effort Justine! You are right, it would have been great in Lakewood but, at least it will continue.

I know how much work and love you put into this project. It is a shame that it did not stay here where it started. Once again our loss in another city's gain.

I find it odd what this city decides to fight for and try to keep while they let other jewels slip through their fingers.

Thank you for you effort on this, you hard work starting MAMA, everything you have done for the Observer, and the city.

Cinderella's Closet had 100 girls show up and get dresses from Cleveland, Parma, and surrounding areas. The volunteers were crying from how good it made them feel and Fox 8 did a lengthy interview so watch tonight! I hope one day Lakewood can house a satellite closet on this side of town since people come forward with donated dresses when they hear of the cause!
