lakewood trivia question
I am trying to find out what banks were in the bottom of the office building east of einstein bagels on detroit ave. Any help would be greatly appreciated. It was on the first floor on the right side of the building.

Suzie--- I know exactly what you are talking about. I am just waiting for my mental scrap book to finish its "search".
Sometimes, just like a computer it produces near instantaneous results. Alas, there are times when I have to go deep into mental archives. (No snickering from the peanut gallery in regards to the deep adjective).
In that case, the bank logo in the case may pop into my consciousness within a few hours or maybe even tomorrow.
The only one that comes to mind right now would be a Broadview Savings and Loan office. But I am skeptical of that because that firm already had a major branch at Belle and Madison before it went out of business.
Suffice to say, as soon as that Eureka moment arrives, you will read it here!

I think you're early on that. FirstMerit was not in Cuyahoga County before 1985. There was probably a bank there that was purchased by FirstMerit. You may be pretty close on the closing date. It may have been '96 or '97.

This is building to more than a trivia question.Suzie Dean wrote:That is what I was looking for...does anyone have an idea of the time frame that it was there...from when to when? Thanks for your help!
