VISIT YOUR PUBLIC SCHOOLS!

Post by marklingm »

Over the past several months, many parents have inquired about visiting any one of our Lakewood City Schools. Of course you can visit our schools … they are our schools after all!

Board Policy 9150 is entitled, School Visitors, and provides, in part, that: “The Board of Education welcomes and encourages visits to school by parents, other adult residents of the community and interested educators. But in order for the educational program to continue undisturbed when visitors are present and to prevent the intrusion of disruptive persons into the schools, it is necessary to invoke visitor controls.â€￾

If you are interested in visiting any school, please contact the respective building principal in advance. For example, Dr. Bill Wagner can be reached at 1.216.529.4021 at the Lakewood High School.

I also learned today that “all day student shadowing experiencesâ€￾ will now be made available at LHS with advance notice and planning. Please understand that advance notice and planning is needed to allow the Administration the ability to plan dates that will not be disruptive to the LHS educational environment, and will ensure the safety and security of the building. More information about such experiences will be announced soon.
