Calling all Recycling Fans...

There are stacks upon stacks of past dated Lakewood Observers outside their 3rd floor office. These papers need to be removed and can prove valuable to those who feel that recyling products is important. Not to mention the papers are a fire hazard to the LO Office, tenants and building.

Thank you. Please hurry before the papers blow away themselves and end up in Stan's yard.

So, basically you're saying that YOU won't take them to the recycling center, but I/WE should come do it?

(I actually would have if I'd seen this earlier, as I was in front of the Phoenix all afternoon.)

They were set aside for a school group that was doing a paper drive. Then we were told they would not be picked up.

We had a tenant that used to take them but he moved out.

This should not be on my landlord, but I have been making some calls.

So if someone has a paper drive, they are there, if not they will be recyled this weekend.

Yes, this is why I was hoping for the schools to pick them up.

As we are starting papers in other communities we give them a good selection to read and see. Also with as much press as we are getting around the country we also send copies out to other cities that are looking at our project and trying to start their own. That's right Heather, your column in print form has been sent to the UK, Turkey, Japan, Australia, as well as California, New York, Mass. and 30 other states.

These are from the overstock of extra editions. We always put some editions into "stock" usually no more than 400. When we deliver we also pick up so some of the numbers go up to 600 or so, and we trim them back. The overstock room had gotten a little crazy, so Rozi's gave us another room to sort and file them. These are from that sort.

Still we have some left over, and would like to recycle. If a school or group could actually make money for it, even better.

I have definately done my share of recycling LO papers. The problem is that the paper has grown so much that it exceeds my minivan's capablilties (those three pesky baby seats keep getting in the way). So yes, I was asking for help - shame on me to ask of you.

Do not be offended, Heather, I'm sure someone else in the community can chip in and help out--but thanks for letting us know just how you feel about helping out.

So, basically, I am not saying that YOU should do it, but then again, asking for help never sounds pleasing for those who do not wish to help.

Does that mean that this little 'ol' banjo picker from the hills and hollers' column has also been sent around the whole wide world like that ?

If no one else will take them, I can take them. As you can imagine running a rescue means lots of "potty" times and I do use paper for my crates and floors.
But please, if someone else can make money off of them, or can use them fo better purposes I am good with that. I was just saying that I can put them to use.

Stop by, they are on the third floor.

In the 5 plus years of publishing I would imagine that we have about a minivan of extras that can be used for gardening, pets, etc.

I would hope that someone can profit from them.
