Good day in Lakewood

Post by Jim O'Bryan »

Was adding photos from yesterday to my photoblog and realised what a good day it had been.

The Marklings discuss work at Caribou Coffee.

Lunch with Jeff and Ken at 56 West.

Image
Stop by after school basketball to talk with John Kamkutis.

Image
Watched the history of Detroit Ave. put on by Mazie Adams, and
the Lakewood Historical Society and Lakewood School kids to a
standing room only crowd at Lakewood Public Library.

Checking out the angles of Lakewood Public Library.

The front of Lakewood Public Library at night.

Then off to the Rush Inn, and WestEnd for some high level talks
with members of city hall, and new businesses. Sorry no photos of
that action, held for a story!

Damn I love this city.

Ivor:

You always manage in your shots of people and teams and groups to capture a deeply soulful portrait of life connected to our place on the planet. As I reflect back on the years of the LO project, the ripple effects of getting to know you, battling with you over library colors, savoring your originary participation as young lad with the geezers and hippies in the wild and inflationary crafting of a civic spirit for a depressed city, I am profoundly honored to count myself with you in the good company still manifesting the psyche and the symptoms of life in Lakewood.

Thank you so much.
