Absolutely.....or canola, or olive oil.....Jeez, from what I've read about hydrgonated fats, you'd probably be better off with good old lard....

To whom it may concern, : ) ...

Quite awhile ago I found this site, it's worth the read.

http://www.bantransfats.com/

It's tough trying to eat at home and not eat ANY transfats, since the law isn't demanding enough from all the manufacturers, at least in our area.
If the amount of hydrogenated fat is less than .5mg, they don't have to acknowledge it on the label. ( I hope I got that number correct).

So, as far as our family is concerned, we DO try and buy food that does not contain hydrogenated oils, but some just sneak in the shopping list.

As you read that website, or google "transfats" or "hydrogenated oil" and read as many sites as you care to, I think you'll come to the same conclusion as many of us have, that it's a far more serious problem than smoking and also 2nd hand smoke, yet just doesn't get the "press".

So, technically this stiff us worse than Asbestos and Lead Paint combined. But if you are lucky Heart Disease will kill you much faster or less painfully than cancer or lead poisoning.
