Printing Opinion Pieces

Post by Thealexa Becker »

Does the LO have a policy regarding printing OpEd pieces?
I'm reading about myself sitting in a laundromat, reading about myself sitting in a laundromat, reading about myself...my head hurts.

The Lakewood Observer has an open submission policy for everything. EVERYTHING sent in is published in print and/or online. This is based on 1)Lakewood specific, 2)Time sensitivity, 3)Response to another piece, 4) Space limitations, 5) Desire of the writer, 6) Other publications.

Why do you ask?

Really? I was just wondering because I wrote two opinion pieces that never got published and I just thought it was because there was an LO policy.

Thanks for the response.

What was the second, the one is Blue-Ray correct.

With that it came in after the last paper was laid out, this time, we had many stories to get caught up on as the well is filling faster than we can empty. Also many of the "prime" players which include are coming back and writing up a storm after taking a short sabbatical. Of course you are now one of our prime players.

The sooner a story is in the better chance it has to get in. Time sensitive always takes precedent over non-time sensitive.

This time, we ran out of space for Blue-Ray, but it is at the lead of the que.
