The following press release was issued by the City of Lakewood today:
EMERGENCY SNOW PARKING BAN LIFTED
SNOWED-IN CARS WILL BE TICKETED FOR 24-HOUR VIOLATION
Lakewood Mayor Edward FitzGerald, serving as the City’s Public Safety Director, has announced that the Emergency Snow Parking Ban will be lifted at 4:00 p.m. on January 29, 2009. Residents may go back to parking on all city streets where signs do not prohibit parking.
Residents are reminded that vehicles may not be parked on any street in the City for more than 24 hours without being used in a usual and ordinary manner. The Lakewood Police Department will ticket snowed-in autos on all city streets. Tickets and tow notice will be placed on each vehicle. If the cars are still parked on the street, without being moved, an attempt will be made to notify the registered owner. After the notification attempt is made, the auto will be towed off the street.
