Check Lakewood City's web site. I think they are hiring for School Crossing guards.

Good Luck!

I've been meaning to post this resource. Maybe he can get the last grant #4.

The other grants are also marvelous, only one is city specific for LA.

This is is a marvelous resource.

I hope all goes well for him, this is terrible time for many, many people.

John

I posted a job here, and in the classified for a company that was hiring 30 people at $9.50 and hour and travel expenses for stocking shelves.

The job is only for 30 months, but...

Also in the paper.

He's shovelling right now but I haev been paying his rent, utilities and food for the last couple months.
He has no car,no license,no family here.
Has lived in Lakewood for the last a 15 years (and paid his taxes every year as a renter)
So, enough of the sob story and I won't bring him up again but what can I do besides give hima lift to the homeless shelter (seriously).

I wish I had the answer...but has he put in applications everywhere in Lakewood?? Marc's, Burger King, McDonald's, CVS, Walgreens, Giant Eagle, etc?? I know times are tough, but has he really tried everything already? What about Westgate shops....busses go there.
