Board President Ed Favre wrote:There are tough, important, and historic decisions to be made. We all know the words from John Kennedy’s inaugural speech. I remember seeing it live on black and white TV. The same logic applies in these difficult times…it is not the time to ask what is in it for me or my personal interest, rather it is the time to ask what I can do for the betterment of all our community...for the greater good of Lakewood Schools. This is the same message that the President-elect has sent and is repeating. These depressed times require a can-do attitude and not preoccupation with what we cannot do. This community has shown its ability in the past and, I am confident, will do so in the future.

It is time for us all to have our sleeves rolled up, be of the right mind, and go to work. My fellow Board Members and I, and many others, have been working hard for some time. We will be stepping up our efforts. In fact, we will be going back to work right after we adjourn this portion of meeting.

I saw it on the calendar and thought it would be a good general meet. Better late then never.

What I truly appreciate about Ed on the school board is that he brings a certain mix of law enforcement, and school knowledge that I think is helpful in today's Lakewood schools need.

Actually all of the board members have an interesting mix of their full time job that add so much to the needs of the board at this time.

Ed Favre, thank you for a truly enjoyable evening. It was nice to speak with
all the board members, and so many other notables and good people.

If tonight is any barometer I believe you will get support from all parts
of Lakewood. Talk about diversity! The only things that they had in
common was love for Lakewood Schools and support for you.

Thanks for a nice get together.

Ed,

Thank you for the invitation. The fact that every school board member came out to support you says a lot about your board leadership.

And, Jim is correct, it was fun discussing all things Lakewood with people throughout Lakewood.
