Re: How will flying cars impact Lakewood?
I would think "if it survives..." that most of the impact in Lakewood will come from above.Stephen Eisel wrote:Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (clicky)
The first flying automobile, equally at home in the sky or on the road, is scheduled to take to the air next month.
If it survives its first test flight...
Not the first flying car, not even the most practical. The most practical flying cars came from the 50s, and cost a couple thousand dollars. When I say practical, I mean they really flew.

recently these guys have been sucking up investment capital over the past ten years, with no actual flight yet.

Of course rally drivers have been flying cars for years, and it is still the easiest way to go.

Of course these would impact Lakewood from a lower angle.

flying car
To paraphrase Daniel Wilson, the flying car would transform drunk drivers into human torpedoes.

When my car stalls out, it just stops. it does not fall out of the sky. The friction between the tires and the ground also gives me a much shorter braking distance. I don't like to imagine all the vehicles around me having the braking distance of an aircraft.

Flying cars
They can probably be summed up with the phrase, "Death from Above"

A bit pricy for meDietrich said he had already received 40 orders, despite an expected retail price of $200,000 (£132,000).
Anyway, we already have the 'sport compact car' version in Lakewood today

Looks like some enterprising teenagers are hard at work developing the real deal. They're making good use of thier science skills to use in developing a rocket powered garbage can. The prototype needs some work but its a start.
