So I got one of those new fangled converter boxes. For the most part I am happy with it. The one problem is that the PBS digital signal is not strong enough to be picked up. Since 75% of tv watching is PBS this is a problem. I live south of Madison, on ground about as high as it gets in Lakewood. For now if we want to watch PBS we just switch to analog mode and all is well. As we all know that is not going to be the case after next month's conversion.
Does anyone know where the broadcasting tower is for WVIZ? Does anybody else have this same problem?

So it look as though I will just have to sit tight until the new full power antenna comes on line,WVIZ's digital transmitter is temporarily located on WKYC's tower operating at a very low 10 kW ERP. [1] It was previously located atop of WVIZ's old studio building operating at 1 kW ERP until the property was sold and WVIZ had to relocate the antenna. [2]
WVIZ plans to build a new tower next to WKYC to mount a permanent full-power digital antenna. The new tower will also be used to hold WKYC new digital antenna that will air on February 17, 2009 on channel 17. The current WKYC tower will then be dismantled shortly after the February 17, 2009 analog cut-off date.[3]
The station's digital channel is multiplexed:
