The catch phrase says it all. Adult children who are caring for their parents while also raising their own family are known as "the sandwich generation." These caregivers find themselves pulled in many directions -- caring for a parent, raising their children, keeping their marriage healthy and often holding down a job as well. This is ME is it YOU, too? Wondering if anyone else is in the same situation and would like to meet to discuss? Perhaps we could get a group together on a monthly basis for help and support.

You know I am taking care of my family, my rescue and my ailing GRANDparents. My mother is too well to be nice, too occupied with "life" to help out. It is so hard because I have no idea what to do for them, and I really want to move them out of their house and get them closer to me. Again ...running away!!!!!!

I see what you are saying. While my mother is not elderly enough that she needs me to look after her all the time. I think it is a shame that I can not do more to make her life better off financially. I am raising a family of my own and money is tight but I would give most things to be able to relive the financial burden that my mother has incurred while raising all of us devito's (there are 4 1/2
) on her own. Anyway the point is thank you parent tonight for all they have done for you. It is more than you may know. Love you mom!!

I've been asked recently to participate in a service that was developed for just this topic. The website can be found at http://www.caringconcierge.com. Certainly a good place to find resources and the organizers have good intentions at heart.
