Resources for Poor and Unemployed in Cuyahoga Cty. Drying Up

I just talked to my friend who runs First Call for Help. He said the job was getting harder and harder for his workers because resources were drying up because of the failing economy.

Last week I was making some calls to see if I could find food baskets for Thanksgiving for some people I know. All the agencies that usually provide them were tapped out.

Time to get moving people, fill the food bank, make donations, work the hunger centers, donate clothes, dig deep.

Your neighbors are in trouble.

I just got some inquiries on pm for what people can do right now.

Right now, talk to the Christian Center and see if they still have families on their lists or your church. Put together some baskets and get your friends and families to do likewise.

Long term, try and figure out what you can do to help people on the edge or who have gone over.

Thank you for starting this.

During this holiday season, and next year, things will be getting tougher and tougher for all legitimate charities.

Now is the time to dig into your pockets, cupboards or where ever and help those that are less fortunate.

Speaking with Trish at Lakewood Christian Service Center yesterday she was appalled that others are using the spirit of the holiday season to pad their bank accounts instead of helping those in need.

Reach out and give, extend the hand of friendship to others.
