Cycles for Soldiers--This is just too Cool

Post by Ruthie Koenigsmark »

Nick Novak, a Westlake High School sophomore, put a new spin on a way to help military troops overseas.

Novak and his fellow members of Boy Scout Troop 435 of Westlake will ship bicycles to soldiers for use on a military base. Novak's goal is to ship 25 bicycles.

Novak and Boy Scout Troop 435 will accept donations to purchase new bicycles. Donations can be made at any Fifth Third Bank in northeast Ohio. Donations can be mailed to Cycles for Soldiers, Attention: Meegan Elliot at 25151 Detroit Road in Westlake, OH 44145

My kids' Boy Scout Troop 211, Cove Church, is donating a bicycle we are picking out at Spin this week--we challenge any other boy scout/Girl Scout troups, Lakewood Bike Club or any other association to meet or beat our gift! If you go this route rather than a cash donation, let me know and we can arrange pick up. Bikes must be new!

Way to go Ruthie!!

Boy Scout Troop 211 and the community thank you for your great work on getting this done. The soldiers will appreciate being able to travel on base by bicycle.

Thank you Spin Bike Shop. Selling a bike to our troop at cost is huge. We appreciate your participation is such a worthwhile cause.

Looking forward to meeting Nick Novak from Boy Scout Troop 435 of Westlake and hearing more about his impressive Eagle Scout project.

Apparently the first three bikes have arrived safe and sound. Way to go Nick, this is a wonderful thing you are going.
