One tank family weekend destination

Post by Bret Callentine »

Anyone looking for a nice weekend getaway for the family... I highly recommend the new Holiday Inn (with indoor water park) in Maumee.

Three large water slides, lazy river, large indoor/outdoor hot tub, kids and toddlers activity area (with a couple more slides, etc), and brand new rooms/facilities.

For about $130 a night (debending on nights and stay) you get room and four passes for the water park. Although check in isn't until 4pm, you can get your passes early and spend all day in the park, then, the next day, while checkout is at 11am, you can still stick around until park closes. So essentially, one overnight stay, two full days in the waterpark.

The hotel is litterally right off the turnpike (exit 59) and has plenty of other restaurants/activities within a short drive.

Expensive for a hotel, but not too bad for two days swimming and relaxing inside when the weather gets nasty.

Just thought I would spread the word.

And if anyone else has any other recommendations, my wife and I are always looking for destinations.

Hey, thanks for the great idea. We have been going to Fairlawn and staying at a hotel with a pool, not a water park for the same price. What a deal. thanks.

thank you for the tip. I was looking to do Castaway Bay again, but I really wanted something smaller. Frankie is not in to the big slides and I am not either. This sounds perfect!!!!
