Writer Affiliation

Here's a question for the Deck.

Would the addition of any relevant affiliation of the writer of an article in The Observer help our readers?We are generally "citizen journalists." But, by the same token we each wear several hats in the community, some voluntary and some job related.

So, would it help in transparency if Melissa Garret who is so important to Lakewood be identified as an employee of the City when writing an article about the City? Obviously, if she wrote an article about a personal hobby that wouldn't require any further identification.

Our other writers, Gary, Brett, and Gordon usually include in their articles any perspective from which they are writing.

Let's discuss this so that we can continue to have the respect of the readership which we have earned over the past five years.
