AT&T U-verse - Do you have it?

Post by Joe Ott »

Have you switched from Cox to AT&T U-verse? Do you have TV, Internet, and phone service? The whole package?

How did installation go? How is the service? Have you ever requested support?

Are you happy you changed?

Looking for unbiased feedback.

Thanks.

Joe,

I was very interested in U-Verse, but being a big sports fan I decided against it because they do not offer Fox Sports Ohio (Cav's) and Sportstime Ohio (Indians) in HD.

If and when they offer those networks in HD I would most likely switch so I'm interested to see what comments you recieve.

My parents got U-verse a few months back. They said the instillation went well. My mom loves having a DVR and they are constantly trying to get me to switch, which I can't because it's not available here. Anyhow no complaints from them and they always complained about cox.

It's unavailable in my area, but I have a friend on Sloane who loves it. He gets a digital cable package with a million channels, hi-speed wireless (it's really fast), 4 DVR's that share recorded programs, all for about the same as I pay for Cox basic cable, cable internet, and Tivo. I'd switch in a heartbeat if I could.

I switched from DirectTV to AT&T U Verse. I like the service ok. The technician came out to fix an intermittent reception TV problem, and seemed to have cured a long standing issue we had with our Internet too, so I'm happy with it so far.

Only negative is the DVR is not as cool as a real TiVO dvr.

It may not have all the bells and whistles of Tivo, but U-verse has a much easier/quicker interface for recording shows and setting Season Passes. And the fact that you can watch the recorded shows on any of your DVRs is cool.

I looked into it but it's not available on my street. I think it's a little strange that it's only available in Lakewood on a street by street basis. Does anyone know when it will be available for everyone and not just in certain pockets of the city?

Just guessing, but it's probably based on your proximity to those godawful ugly boxes. I am not entirely sure how much it relates to how "full" they are for subscritions in an area, though.
