Aw shucks, Thanks Ruthie!

...and I don't feel a day over 57!

...well, actually, about about 9 days past my 57th, as of tonight. :D

Birthdays are great! Having them would seem to be a much better deal than NOT having them!

Gary,

you sure do keep your birthday's a big secret!

I remember on my birthday, I met a crazy man that plays the saw, and he gave me a TIME photography book.

That's how it all started!

I hope everyone had a great birthday!

Ivor,

You are too kind.

A birthday is a special time to pause and reflect the passage of the past, and the hopes for the future.

In just over 2 weeks, the political battles will be behind us for at least a little while. Maybe we can celebrate a few more birthdays, anniversaries, and happy events around here then.

Just imagine what a wonderful place Lakewood could be if we could just channel some of the energetic passions seen on this 'Deck, into some constructive projects locally.

Like....

Maybe we can develop a "citizen volunteer resource center" right here on the 'deck...where teachers, plumbers, accountants, lawyers, photographers, carpenters, etc...would be willing to give free TEMPORARY advice or assistance to those having REAL needs? This would not be meant to take anyone's job away, but it would be a place for someone to turn to in their hour of need.

Or maybe, we could at least start to smile at each other a bit more.... :D

It's the least we could do...

Gotta go...That banjo needs to be warmed up again...
