LEAF Gallery call for kid art and recycled art

Post by michael gill »

At this year's LEAF Harvest Festival, LEAF will present an exhibit of art made by kids and another collection of art made from recycled materials.

Anyone who has art that fits this description and wants to show it to the rest of us is encouraged to do so.

Here's the deal:

KIDS:

All kids' art must be identified with the artist’s name and age, and optionally, school.

All art is entirely the responsibility of the artists and parents. LEAF Gallery assumes no responsibility.

Bring your framed or matted art ready to hang to Leaf gallery in front of the Library Thursday October 16 between 4 and 6 p.m. Check in with Mike, and hang it yourself.

Gallery hours are 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Pick up art between 8 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.

Any unclaimed art will be disposed of, or, if the situation merits, sold at auction. If it's really cool I might just keep it.

RECYCLED ART:

Show us what you've made from something--anything--that might otherwise have been thrown away.

Identify it with the artists name and any other information about the material or the art that you wish.

Show up between 4 and 6 to hang or display your work. Check in with Mike, and hang it yourself.

If you need a pedestal or any special accommodation to present your work, bring that with you.

All art is entirely the responsibility of the artists and parents. LEAF Gallery assumes no responsibility.

If you're selling stuff, you are entirely responsible for your sales.

Pick up your work between 8 and 8:30 p.m.

Any unclaimed work will be recycled again, disposed of, or if the situation merits, sold at auction. And again, if it's really cool, I might just keep it.

THis was one of my favorite parts of the first LEAF Harvest Festival.

Glad to see it's a central part of the event.

Yeah, as much as I enjoy the individual artist exhibits, there's nothing quite like the wide open playing field of kids art to make for an interesting show.

I'm excited about the Art of Recycling show, too, which will have stuff people have made from things that would otherwise be thrown away.

By the way, DL: Can you give me directions to the land of dead grass and large zuchinni?

I think you can see it from your sister's house when it rises from the mist every century or so...
