McCain vs. Obama

Post by Chuck Greanoff »

The Lakewood High School Debate Club is having its first debate of this school year. Here are the particulars. It will be held Wednesday, October 8th, at 7:00 pm in the auditorium of the Main Brach of the Lakewood Public Library. (The auditorium is in the basement)

Students will debate the merits of each candiadate with respect to their capacity for dealing with domestic and foreign policy issues. After the debate, students will take questions from the audience.

Hope to see you there. Our students appreciate your attendance.

Got it marked on my calendar and I am looking forward to it. As I mentioned on a previous post I've been out with other LHS students campaigning and I will be looking forward to a high degree of skill and knowledge by both teams.

The debate tonight was very informative. The house was packed with interested students, primarily and a few interlopers (me, for one).

Both teams were well prepared and not only knew the already very familiar pitches from the respective camps, but, demonstrated their own knowledge and interpretations of their respective candidate's platforms.

I hope that students in the audience will take tonight's energy and extend it throughout the next 30 days.

(btw, can't have this good a bunch of kids without a good teach  )

interloper (plural interlopers)

1. (obsolete) An unlicensed or illegitimate trader.
2. One who interferes, intrudes or gets involved where not welcome.

They disliked the interloper, and forced him to leave.
Microsoft thought GNU/LINUX as a new interloper, who was stealing away the Desktop market.

Stan, I bet you were nicer than that. By the way you are going to have start paying me ;-)
