Heights Observer measures value of Heights and Lakewood

Post by stephen davis »

Our sister publication takes issue with Cleveland Magazine's "Rating the Suburbs".

Greg Donley (Heights Observer) wrote:But these numbers are of little use to people who want to live in a close-in place like Cleveland Heights, University Heights, or Lakewood. We need a rating that measures the things that matter to people who value culture, walkable neighborhoods, aesthetic quality, true community diversity, easy access to urban amenities, a strong presence of local independent businesses, and, of course, good schools, good property values, and reasonable taxes. Call it the WMI: the What Matters Index.

Nothin' shakin' on Shakedown Street.
Used to be the heart of town.
Don't tell me this town ain't got no heart.
You just gotta poke around.

Just drive down Lee Road

You don't need to read no steekin' story to know that Lakewood is superior to Cleveland Heights. Just drive through Coventry and pay attention to the facial expressions. Do these people look like they're enjoying their lives? No.

A bar with an obscure James Joyce theme does not make up for the startling deficiencies of C.H. in comparison to Lakewood.

Hah! I say, hah!
