LHS Football opens 2008 season Friday 8/22, Sports Update

Post by Ivor Karabatkovic »

The Rangers will be playing at Baldwin Wallace University against Berea in their opening game Friday night.

Rumor has it that Ohio State University coach Jim Tressel will be in attendance to honor his late father with the dedication of the new field in his name.

The game will be televised, but I forget what channel.

Meanwhile, Freshmen football opened up the season Thursday evening with a 20-14 win against Berea.

The girls soccer team won in dramatic fashion Monday night against Rocky River. They took on Westlake Thursday evening and lost 7-1. The game was played at Garfield MS. I gotta say that the lights at the Middle School field are far superior to many of the lights that normal High Schools around the country have. Boy am I lucky! But the lights did go out two or three times during the game and there was trouble to get them back on. Yes, there was complete darkness for a good 10 minutes before the lights came back on by themselves.

Apparently there are no trains in Westlake?

Boys Soccer will be playing at Valley Forge High School on Saturday. They won their first game of the season against Brunswick HS.
