Interestingly, the vast majority of tickets are being sold to those from outside of Lakewood so far. Parma Hts has a large group, Strongsville another, with one actually driving in from Hudson... While I'm happy that these results indicate that the economy is being stimulated by imported money rather than the usual bead trading that just circulates the same dollar, I'm beginning to wonder where the Lakewoodites are. Hopefully if you've found this thread you already know that the bars have banded together to offer what has to be the antithesis of the usual festival practice of overcharging everyone. 12 locations have agreed to provide each VIP Pass holder with 6 wings between 1-7 on Saturday. The cost is just $15 advance, or $20 the day of.
I'd like to ask a favor of those reading this though. You see we have put passes into circulation at the participating bars but based on my experience they are not moving because they are tucked away in drawers and what not. See this is where each of you can help the local businesses. If you are looking to attend this event on Saturday, stop in at one of the places listed below and ask the server to dig out a couple of pass and fork over the $15 ( yes that's right $0.21/wing plus we've thrown in a shuttle for the day ).
Around the Corner, Buckeye Beer Engine, Geppetto's, Harry Buffalo, Kenilworth, McCarthy's, Merry Arts, Pacers, Pug Mahones, Put In Bay Lakewood, Riverwood Cafe, Winking Lizard.
Tickets are also on sale at www.pillarsoflakewood.com/shop.aspx.
Oh almost forgot, www.cleveland.Metromix.com will be on hand throughout the day taking photos to promote Lakewood online.

competetive eating
that is a great deal.
Last year it was too many wings to eat. can a team enter under one ticket and split the six wings?

I certainly don't expect many, if anyone can eat 72 wings in just 6 hours. If help is brought along, no one is going to stop them from sharing the wings. The only two drawbacks would be your helpers wouldn't be able to cast a vote and the shuttle is to be for those with passes (if there's space available then exceptions may be made).
The more the merrier. Better that the wings are eaten and not thrown away when only one of the six is eaten.

My husband and I really wanted to do this, but we have to attend a family function in Toledo. His brother is on leave from Iraq and here for his daughter's first birthday... so we cant miss that!
Anything else, I would have tried to get out of to attend this. I sent this to many people in my office who were really interested in it, most outside of Lakewood. So hopefully, they are the people you are referring to! It's a great deal and it sounds fun.
Hope it is a success!
