I easily could have missed it but I have not heard much since April regarding Lakewood’s Public Safety Initiative.
This plan, put forth by Mayor FitzGerald three months ago, suggested, among other things, the following:
Ward 1 – Neighborhood office site selection to proceed. Hiring process in motion for new officer in order to assign NPO.
Ward 2 – Neighborhood office site selection to proceed. Hiring process in motion for new officer in order to assign NPO.
Ward 3 – Neighborhood office site selection to proceed. Hiring process in motion for new officer in order to assign NPO.
Ward 4 – Officer in Fedor Manor starting in June 2008.
Can anyone provide an update?

No safety signs here - there was a shooting in our parking lot Saturday night. Other tenants have been saying it was kids from the Hairy Buffalo.
Big surprise there.
Yep - feel safer?

I couldn't find any updates on the Lakewood city site, but would like to know how it is progressing. On a related note, I know LPD has always been responsive but I notice a lot more police on the roads which is nice. I'm realistic, so I don't expect all crime to instantly stop but and every schedule to be met exactly... but I have faith in a solid plan.
