There may be good reason to stay away from cheesy commercial representations...

But food might be okay without the labels...

Of course there is always a "celebrating technology" theme...

One thing is for sure, if you do this right - and it truly qualifies as outdoor art, you will have no problem getting national coverage. Another reason AT&T might want to be on the positive side of the equation. As in underwriting the expense of beautification. Just sayin.

More celebrating technology... This one is actually near and dear to AT&T as the exclusive carrier for iPhone....

I like the toast - it suits the message I would like to send them about their boxes.

Since (for whatever reason) I can't post a photoshop rendering, the best I can do is suggest that the following, properly cropped would be an excellent peice to put on the Lightspeed boxes:

Adobe has a new online version of Photoshop in Beta - with 2GB of space if you sign up. Theoretically, you can do your editing and posting with this, but not sure. Info at: http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/photoshopexpress/

that picture has always been one of my favorites from the Ahead at Lightspeed thread.

is anyone else amazed at how long it seems to take for ATT to install a box? The box cluster on the east side of Mars Ave (across from the library parking lot) has been in construction for weeks....

also, i noticed that the boxes have street addresses on them, like they are little houses or something.

 Well how else are you supposed to send mail to the government trolls who man the wire tap houses. They need addresses to.

I had no idea I was supporting public art by voting for Lightspeed. I do enjoy the Dunn Signature Edition. Jim, is it possible you could cook one up for me?

Can't make a promise on the Dunn edition, word has him going to Washington, I imagine he will want to take that one and hopefully all the other ones with him.

Maybe, if you are back for the 4th, you could ride with the one on the LO Float?

On a personal note, thanks for the notes and updates. Glad to hear everything is going so well.

Re: Photoshop

Jeff, if you are interested, there is an open source graphic program called GIMP. I have it, and while being a long time user of Paint Shop Prop, Gimp is great, and has just about everything that Adobe Photoshop has (at least things I use and I use graphic programs alot over the last 14 years.) Since it is open source, the price is right. Free. : )
