Little Arthur is NOT ONE WAY!!

Last night I pulled out of my driveway to proceed south on Arthur to Madison. All of a sudden a white car stopped directly in front of me (going North on the wrong side of the street). I thought maybe something was wrong, he needed to talk to me or maybe it was somebody I knew. I wasn’t sure…but instead he stopped directly in front of me so that I couldn’t go any farther just for him to get out of his car to start calling me few choice names because I was driving the wrong way on a one way street. I politely (yelled) back and told him that I lived on the street and it wasn’t a one way. I pointed to where the sign was and he still called me names. He then got back into his car pulled in a near by drive…I wasn’t sure what he was doing so I sat in my car…he got back out and said…well there you go..drive down your street that “isn’tâ€￾ one way…while calling me some more few choice names.
The fact of the matter is I wasn’t driving the wrong way. Little Arthur is a two way street. You just can’t enter it from Hilliard. There is a sign on the East side of the street stating, there is two way traffic. I think that the sign has poor placement. Maybe people would see it better if it was on the other side of the street.
We have about 20 kids that live in this area. I’m afraid someone is going to get hurt. All people do is zip around the corner and then proceed to zoom down the street just to have to stop at the stop sign. I have often seen the cars go up on our tree lawn…that is about a foot wide. There are times that we adults in the neighborhood are yelling at the cars to slow down. And most of these people are just using our street as a cut through to miss the traffic light.
It’s rather sad that I think it is going to take a tragic accident to happen for something to be done about it.
