Passport Photograph Help Needed

Post by Richard Cole »

I'm just about to renew my passport and the photographer I have used in the past no longer offers the service.

What I'm looking for is recommendations for a Lakewood Photographer who takes passport photographs - Thanks

I think the UPS store in the Marc's shopping center takes them.

I got mine taken at the USPS location. As it was a few years ago I do not remember the fee they charged but I know it was nominal.

On a side note I know a guy, 500 bucks and no questions asked. ;-)

I just renewed my passport about two months ago. I took my own picture with my digital camera, used Photoshop to crop it to the right size, printed it and mailed it with the application.

If you do your own, the US Passport site has all the guidelines.

If you can't do it yourself, I believe that in addition to the other suggestions Staples also does them.

I did my own passport photos, as well as my brothers, my moms, my dads, and family friends when they applied for their citizenship.

But UPS does it, to make things simple.

I just had to do this recently as well...

I decided to use a digital camera, epassportphoto.com, and then stopped by walgreens to print it out.

Walgreen's

I had mine done at Walgreen's.

It wasn't very good, though, but I imagine it just depends on who is working at the time...

Lakewood Post Office--and you can drop off the paperwork there too...my son's passport only took 10 days to receive!

Update;

I got the passport photos from the UPS Store.

All three applications (myself and 2 children) have been returned with the note "Photographs are too blurry" :(

At the UPS store, the clerk who took the photos on a "point 'n' shoot", arms held out in front of her looking at the screen, did not fill me with confidence

Ah well - Plan B Walgreens or a DIY Job.

Walgreens and Rite Aid do them too. Its funny, they have a pull-down screen above one of the aisles (which you would never notice) and a cashier uses that for a backdrop. I think it was $10.

Jim - Thanks for the kind offer.

I ended up taking the photos myself and using a website my spouse found http://www.epassportphoto.com/ got them at the exact 35mm x 45mm required size. Printed at RiteAid and in the mail.

PS - The UPS Store refunded me :D
