Walk+Roll Lakewood is working with Volunteer Cleveland Inc to organize volunteers for this fabulous event slated for Lakewood on July 19th from 4-9 p.m. Go to: http://volunteerclevelandinc.org/volunteer_events to sign up.
Volunteers are needed primarily for safety patrol at street barricades, on Belle Avenue to help clear safe pathways for resident vehicles, and along the entire route to provide information and assistance to anyone visiting our city that day.
To get a vision for the event, please watch this video shot in Bogata Columbia, http://www.streetfilms.org/archives/ciclovia/ where 70 miles of roads are closed every week to encourage healthy, active living.
Go to http://www.mainstreetlakewood.org/lakewoodwalks.html for more information about our event. Truly collaborative, the programming includes folks from Lakewood Hospital (bubble machine!), Lakewood YMCA (PACE Tumblers - Positive Attitude Changes Everything), Dept of Recreation (Belly Dancing, Jazzercise), Bike Lakewood (secure bike parking), the Beck Center, promotional assistance from the Lakewood Observer and much more, more, more!

We just got in our shipment of very cool postcards to promote the Walk+Roll Lakewood event.
We are launching a grass roots promotion effort by asking anyone and everyone to distribute the cards to their neighbors, at work, school, sporting events, wherever people gather!
Stacks of about 40 cards are available at Phoenix Coffee and the Main Street office across from Geigers. If any one has suggestions as to where we can get the word out, please post and/or contact me:

Thanks.
