Helicoptors and camera crews
Does anyone know why all the 'what looked like' news helicoptors were hovering over LHS this week between 4:30-6:00pm?
I(everyone) noticed a helicoptor Wednesday during the LHS track meet. Hovering for quite some time right above us.
I figured an accident or something...it was rush hour.
On Thursday when we were up there for track practice, Channel 3 was on the track with a camera crew and news reporter. They did not tape any of the kids running, nor did they attempt to interview anyone.
Another helicoptor hovered above us too, on and off.
Weird I thought, but I was to busy coaching to go over an ask.
Then yet again last night, Friday. As we did our warm up lap around the Bunts/Madison/Robinwood block, we saw camera crews at that(what I call drug dealing/nasty) apartment building on the corner of Madison and Robinwood.
They were interviewing people. Filming inside a car.
Then yet again the helicoptors hovered above us on and off while we were there.
Perhaps this is all related to the bust of the guy planning the shooting with that teenager on line??

I saw that same helicopter flying over the library around 1pm on Wed for a LONG time (like, 3-5 min).
It kept circling around the library and the western edge of Lakewood and hovering in certain spots. I happened to run into a friend of mine in the library parking lot at that moment, and we were both trying to figure out the markings because it looked like no news/life flight chopper either of us had seen. We joked that it was indeed a "black helicopter"!
I took a picture of it with my cell phone camera, too.... Weird....

They were over our house for what seemed to be a long time - long enough for me to make a couple of phone calls about them.
Before the calls, we simply assumed they were admiring all the beautiful yard work that DH has been doing...

Even though Lakewood lost the track meet, we did win in another way.
The Hudson coaches, most of whom had NEVER been to the LHS track, raved and complimented on the outstanding facility we have!
When the Hudson coaches told their team they were running at Lakewood, they said most of the kids responses were, "Where is Lakewood?" Thankfully, they did not have the negative 'hood' image painted to often from the media and others(ie:Medina, Strongsville and Avon Lake) that seems to be the latest description of our city.
