Comcast just rolled out their DOCSIS 3.0 system to a test market in St. Paul/Minneapolis late last week.

The speeds of are roughly 50mbps vs. Uverse's current 6mbps.

Can't wait 'til Cox rolls out their upgrade!

It only gets crazier!

This has got to be revisited.

AT&T's padlock tape, I guess?

Did we really know?

Image

Did council really understand?

Image

It would seem safe and clean would start with getting rid of this stuff.

Love big box stores? LOVE YOUR At&T BIG BOX CITY

Post by pat ballasch »

When we saw a proto type of At &T's Light Speed big box at the council meeting, no one thought to ask if there was just one box per location.
Next time I see Dennis Dunn (former councilman) I want to ask, When you were point man for Light Speed couldn't you have sugested a stylish big box? Or just one box that was also a big screen TV playing popular movies?
Jim. When you say graffiti free, does that sugest the graffiti is at no cost to the city?

It seems like short term you have a real lemon. Perhaps you can make lemonade with vinyl coated applications? I think there is a company in Lakewood that knows how to apply these graphics. Could be a way to make things fun. Children's art, local artists, or if that's too difficult, stock photos.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think AGS does it...

Not wrong at all, AGS is probably too shy to have proposed it themselves. Certainly would not suggest that it be done gratis either. I think AT&T would relish the opportunity to make things right with the community after duping the council into what is arguably an eye-sore. The public relations of a well outlined plan covered widely on local media should work wonders for helping the decision along swiftly. $2500 a box would be my guess for preparation, production and application, but it's only a guess.

Yeah....I've heard that AGS can do all kinds of great photo enlargments....like a mural of the Monte Carlo harbor.....shoreline of Lake Erie....just about anything. I have yet to ever see these photo murals, but I've been told they can do it.

Right Jim?!

looking at the vista-like composite photo from Dustin James calls to mind the works of Wyland... perhaps that artist can be commissioned to do a fresh-water version of his aquascapes for Lakewood?

Jim O'Bryan told me once that Steven Wright went to AGS for his map of the United States.

It was actual size.

Alaska was a problem, as was the "must fit in my glove box! I think it was the request for the globe to size with bas relief features, that put us over the edge.

Jeff

That is the rumor, 56" x 150' though we regularly do walls larger than those dimensions. usually the client have an idea or photo, then we put them where they need to be. Inside a store or outside, wrap a mini, or a truck.

As for Monaco, oh yeah!
