OMG - this is getting to the point that it's ridiculous.
I would never spend money on lightspeed just because of the big uglies.

That truly is a shame. Is there some form of petition process (short of blowing the thing up and making it look like the batteries did it ) to get them to move those ugly thing into more secluded places.
Folks here seem of a mind to shun AT&T because of the boxes. My family very recently went one step further. Three weeks ago Cox, at our request, disconnected our cable. At the top of the pole. We are officially TV free.
Well almost. The kids rent movies now and then, and for some reason Channel 5 (ABC) comes in a bit, the picture is grainy and you can hear the audio. Not that there's much to watch on Channel 5. Maybe we'll finally join Netflix.
I'm surprised how little I miss it. I do miss my favorite Food Network shows that some of us have discussed over in Jeff's forum.
I agree NetFlix is a really nice service. We do not have cable by choice and most likely never will. We don't seem to miss much. We watch a couple of shows at our leisure via DVD from NetFlix or the Internet.
I had cox turn off the basic cable and just keep the local channels. Just in case.
They still haven't turned the cable off but they're only charging me the $8.00 a month.
I might just get rid of that also - I never watch it.

Welcome to the resistance, comrade. I've never, ever written a check to a cable company. Though I still have a pair of rabbit ears ...
Jim we worked real hard to get this big box put in the right spot!! I'm just kidding!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We did not even know they were going to put it in until they started digging he hole. I guess it could have been worse they could have put it in front of the house...I know they wouldn't have even asked.
and here is Mr. Schrimpf, doing his intense morning workout at Lakewood Park.
This move, called "the box cutter" is a set of 12 repetitions. It's unique to Lakewood residents because soon they will have a box of their own in their front yards, at the end of their streets, and even in secluded parks where it's just you, your determination to get fit, and the humming of an AT&T box.
