Announcement: Calling on all high school age filmmakers!

Post by Phil Florian »

The Lakewood ArtWalk (which takes place on May 17th) is looking to add filmmakers to its large repertory of visual arts, live music and street performers. For the duration of the event, we look to show the movies of local filmmakers, some of which were created in Lakewood or by residents of Lakewood.

Are you an aspiring filmmaker and still in high school? Have you done some film work but haven't found a place to show it? Look no further than the Lakewood ArtWalk!

We are looking for works of film created by high school students that should be around 15 minutes in length or less. At this time, the movies need to be on a DVD but we might expand our projection capabilities by the day of the festival so if you have something on 16mm or even 8mm, still drop me a line. Subject matter can vary. All movies will be viewed by representatives of Lakewood is Art prior to the ArtWalk and as such we have final approval of what gets shown or not.

If you are interested and have some short subject films to show, please contact me by PM on the Lakewood Observer Deck or my home e-mail at pkflorian@ameritech.net.

Good luck!

I'll make an announcement in all of my classes tomorrow. Perhaps we'll find a few takers.

I'll also talk to a few people and see if we can get the word out to a wider audience as well.

Great idea and I hope to see LHS represented.

Thanks.
