This concert featured musicians from Lakewood High School's Wind Ensemble and the Des Moines Hoover High School Band from Des Moines, Iowa. LHS hosted Hoover High School for the weekend. They spent the entire day Saturday practicing.
The evening program consisted of the LHS Symphonic Band, LHS Wind Ensemble, and the combined Des Moines Hoover High School Band and LHS Wind Ensemble conducted by guest conductor Dr. Thompson.
Directors Brian Maskow (LHS), Randy Hoepker (HHS), and Assistant Director Stephen Davis (HHS) put on a great concert. The music was excellent.
In addition to the above, Dr. Kenneth Thompson was on hand as a guest conductor. Dr. Thompson has worked with LHS on several occasions in the past. Dr. Thompson is an assistant professor of music education at Bowling Green State University. He flew to Cleveland from another engagement to participate in this concert.
