http://hillaryclinton.com/actioncenter/ ... w?id=10283

Saturday March 1.

Bill Clinton will stop by the East Gym to speak for Hillary.

One reason LHS was chosen is that over 120 students have volunteered to be poll workers.

More soon.

Yes we will be there covering the event.

President Clinton at Lakewood High School

Post by Suzanne Metelko »

Saturday at 10:15 a.m. President Clinton will be the featured speaker at a rally for Senator Clinton in the East gym of Lakewood High School. Regardless of who you're voting for, this is an opportunity to see and hear a former president of the United States.

Please come out and show the world that Lakewood Ohio is engaged. Let's fill the gym on Saturday morning. Bring your kids.

Please remember to carpool or walk. Parking will be at a premium!

Suzanne,

there was a thread already established.

Don't worry, we're all over this!

I'm hoping to get a chance to thank the man that allowed my family to move to the United States to pursue our dreams in education and in the job field. I don't think I'll sleep much for the next two days!

Ivor, If your pictures of this event are even close to Obama's, we're in for a treat. See you Saturday!

Thanks Suzanne!

I'm much more comfortable within the walls of the historic East Gymnasium. I have the lighting down.

I can tell you right off the top of my head that the north half of the basketball court has two more lamps pointing down at it, which makes it easier to photograph than the south side of the court.

Bill Clinton is the only Political figure that I would really love to meet, or interview. I talked with Hillary Clinton's Press office earlier and they said that due to his schedule he can't take any questions. But I've emailed his foundation and am waiting for a statement back.

This article will be a good one.

David,

Set your white balance to somewhere betweek 4200-4600. In manual mode, the gym is perfectly lit on the north side of the court (closer to the L room) at 1/500th at 3200 ISO.

On the north side of the court, it meters at 1/320th at 3200 ISO.

I meant to get back to you about your email. Lunch on Sunday works for me. Name a time and place. Obviously we'll both be busy this Saturday!

Thanks for the tip, Ivor! Are credentials going to be required, or will it be a free-for-all, media-wise?

Sunday also sounds great - I'll email you with a time and place.

Can some ask the campaign this question:

How much is the campaign repaying the City of Lakewood for the cost of Safety Forces?

Its my understanding that since this is a political event the US Secret Service will not reimburse municipalities for security costs.

For a former President, I would have to believe there will be a significant police presence, conceptually beginning tonight, but most definitely in the early hours of the morning. It seems that with the budget the way it is, this could be a costly event.

Perhaps Mayor FitzGerald or Jennifer Pae or the Chief of Police could answer that question.

I don't think that the City of Lakewood could afford the cost of the national TV/radio exposure we'll get tomorrow. What a chance of a lifetime. I hope we pack the place and show the world what a great place Lakewood is and the great people who live here.

When President Bush spoke at Ohio State I'm sure the cost was considerable but what a great opportunity. I think tomorrow will be about history. I'm looking forward to it. And if John McCain wants to come to Lakewood, I'm sure the welcome mat will be out.

Colleen, does this mean you're not going with me? I had your Hillary hat and t shirt all ready for you. Oh and that fake nose and mustache you asked me to pick up! :D

I may take you up on the parking. Thanks!

As far as the law enforcement presence, a bud of mine used to be on the Secret Service, and did a tour of duty with Jimmy Carter I believe. He said that the Secret Service has been here "awhile", setting things up.

It should be good. Bill is a good speaker but I'm curious what hotel would be presidential enough for him anywhere around here.

We have a couple motels in Lakewood, don't we?

Mark,

Bill is constantly on the run. He shows up, talks, leaves. That's the way it is with any candidate or speaker.

I know when we saw Barack Obama at his rally, people were in at 4:30, he didn't even make his appearance in Akron. Then at 9pm he showed up. You can tell because a swarm of journalists called the "traveling press" take their seats as soon as they show up.

So I doubt that he's somewhere around here at the moment. He's probably on a bus.
