Special Needs Kitten at Lakewood Animal Shelter
The Lakewood Animal Shelter has a kitten that was hurt in an accident with a recliner. She is approximately 6 weeks old and she is blind. She might have some slight neurological damage also. She is eating, drinking and using the bathroom normally. She has special needs and will need someone with experience in this area or someone with lots of patience who is willing to work with her. A home with another cat who would 'mother' her might be helpful. If you can give her a home or know someone who can, call the Lakewood Animal Shelter at 529-5020 with any questions. Adoption hours are Tuesdays and Thursdays noon to 5 p.m. and Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays noon to 4 p.m.

Hi Lynn,
She found a home!!! Her name is Charlie and she is too adorable! We take her to the vet on Fri. so will let you know her health status. My daughter is so happy to have her, the boys love her, even my canine loving husband has bonded with her. I will try to post pictures of her if I ever figure out how to do it!

As always anything we can do to help, don't ask, just tell us.
I just adopted a dog from the shelter myself.

Jennifer,
That is a great picture. You little girl is getting so big and she seems so gentle with the little kitten.
Jim,
Tell us more about the dog - I'd love to see a picture of him or her. What do the cats think? I bet they will help you train this dog.
Thanks

Special Need Kitten
Hi Lynn, We took Charlie to the vet yesterday, she is visually impaired although we do not know to what extent yet. Otherwise she is perfectly healthy and happy. Bear and Zeus have not yet been with her other than to see her through her crate. Since she can't see I figure she will feel safer that way. I really think the dogs could care less. You are MORE than welcome to stop over and visit with all, my dogs love you and I am sure Charlie would love to meet you! Kids, animals and chaos all around!
