Cimperman vs. Kucininch

Post by jennifer scott »

Bill, I must ask at the risk of everyone shaking their heads. What is a "Kleptocrat"?

Congressman Kucinich may have had a death bed conversion to the concept of representing his district but I don't think his heart is really in it. The day after his re-election he will be on the next jet plane back to Hollywood.

I prefer a congressman who shares my belief that a smaller, less intrusive government enhances freedom, opportunity, economic growth and individual enpowerment. Since few people share that belief I have to settle for something else.

Since our republic has evolved into a kleptocracy I am resigned to the fact that what we need is a good kleptocrat as our congressional representative.

I mean it as a complement when I say that Cimperman would be a good kleptocrat.

Not to worry. Bill drags out the dead languages to make this point.

Bill was merely calling Cipperman a proper crook in a system that rewards theft.

Of course, Bill would never charge Congresssman Kucinich with these charges.

You really have DK and family wrong.

When I went to Perry's funeral, Congressman Kucinich was home and you could tell.

While some might question the sanity. I see no replacement for Congressman Kucinich in this group.

Jennifer, thanks for asking:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kleptocracy

Governing in the United States is just a series of votes on how much to steal from one group so the money can be given to another group.

On of the reasons Northeast Ohio is becoming a pauper is that we are sending billions to Columbus and Washington DC. We need a congressmen who will help reverse the process. Kleptocrat is as good a term as any to describe the kind of person we need in Congress.

Jim, Congressman Kucinich is many things but he is not dishonest. Perhaps part of the problem is that his heart isn't in the new methodology of our national governemnt.

What is this "new" method?

It remains largely unchanged with the exception being the end of the two party system. One party, with two flavors, both owned by anyone but the American people.

I do think there is a certain frustration that he has with national politics, and also know first hand he had no interest in running again for President, and was looking forward to his appointment, where he has been doing a very good job. The problem was him walking into the democratic caucus and realizing they were looking for ways to continue the funding of the war.

While you can point to Columbus, I would agree with the Congressman, that the thing hurting America the most is a war that did not need to be fought, and the financial drain of that action. It is hard to even remember 8 years ago, and the happy go lucky feel we once had in America. Now after 7 years of terror crank up by this administration, America is in shambles, especially financially.

I have no doubt Congressman Kucinich is frustrated, I also know he is making inroads. So the choice is World Bank Ferris, Cipperman, who has pledge to be part of the political machine we already loathe, or Congressman Kucinich who has always represented the people of this area the best way he can. In Washington and on the campaign trail where he is always introduced as the FREE THINKER from Cleveland Ohio and the Tenth District. I am not so worried about being labeled Honest Free Thinkers.

I can think of worse labels.

Trent Lott, Republican Senator from Mississippi, recently retired from the Senate. His employment contract with a lobbying firm would be covered under the old laws if he retired in 2007.

He will be paid millions of dollars to "influence" legislation. He will help custom make laws that will earn his employer millions of dollars in tax benefits. Why should I respect their laws (good title for a post).?

But what I have in mind when I use the word kleptocracy is the growth in various entitlement programs, aid packages, emergency aid, earmarks, regulations, etc that are little more than grand theft. When my guy gets elected he steals from you. When your guy gets elected he steals from me. The politically parties are more like the Gangs of New York than political parties. When they fight they aren't fighting over ideologies or the future of the country. They are fighting over turf.

Government has become a delicately balanced criminal enterprise.

The new stimulus package is a case in point. It's just the government printing money to hand out to the voters in an election year. Why stop at $1,200 per couple? Why not $12,000? Why not $120,000? Why not "Every Man a Millionaire!!!"(good title for a post). Sorry ladies, you're on your own.

40 years ago such a proposal would have been seen as an insult. Today the response is "What about me?". Our federal officials are more corrupt than ever before and it has nothing to do with campaign financing.

I have a great deal of respect for the members of a city council or a Mayor. I have little respect for federal officials, even the ones I vote for.

Dennis will win. There are many excellent candidates in the primary against him. If you are against Dennis - you would want only 1. The more candidates the more they split the anti-Dennis vote and they make sure he wins.

I like Barbara Farris - no relation and I hear great things about Rosemary Palmer as well. I wish they would run for another position because I'm sure they would make excellent public servants. But they don't have a chance - Dennis will win.

Dennis has a very strong following. I like Rosemary Palmer a lot. She has great ideas and she's very smart. She took on an opponent who is loved and respected, one on one by his constituents.

Dennis will take it.

If Dennis had decided not to run I would have helped Rosemary.
